Why does decorating have to be so complicated?

I’m not the best at decorating. For some reason I just wasn’t born with that gene. I’m grateful for the people and products out there which can help make this process a bit easier. My mother was born with a great gene, but when I asked her about it she said that when she was my age she consulted with professionals all the time and learned whatever she could with them. Maybe I do have a chance after all.
I recently decided that a major redecorating was in order at my house. So I went to Hobby Lobby and bought a bunch of wall decor at 50% off. Of course none of it is hanging on the walls yet, but I do have several layouts planned and hope to get them up soon.
Part of the project was to also redo our main living room. We’ll be adding a nice new sauder computer desk and moving the buffet that we use as a table over the bar entertainment area. Another part of this update could be bedding in the kids room. I’m fascinated by the kids camo bedding options available on the market. I’d never thought of using camouflage bedding before.
Mostly I just want my house to look nice. I even hired a professional decorator to give me some advice and ideas. We put in a nice new coffee table at her suggestion, also.
