Plonker!

The Euro Cylinder of the Mortice Lock – that is the question!
Both have good and bad points – but as a preference for myself i know which one is harder to get through. I’d take a mortice lock on my own home door – no question!
As Locksmiths Manchester we get more problems with uPVC than wooden mortice locks, and more people having to fork out on new mechanisms and new cylinders for their plastic doors than we do replacing traditional mortice locks on a wood door.
Yes plastic doors are becoming more common-place than wood doors, the public tend to have new double glazing on their houses changed at the same time. uPVC mechanisms are not anywhere near as secure and burglar proof as wooden mortices. Firstly a plastic door mechanism works on a trigger system, once that is in action everything will open and follow the lead.
People have a wrong idea that plastic uPVC doors with all their ‘bolts and hooking systems’ are the most secure out there! No way! Take it from us – we’re Locksmiths Manchester - and we know what we’re on about!
Ask a local locksmith today which he would prefer on his own front door – we pretty much guarantee that most would say a mortice. If they don’t send them to our website and get them to have a look for themselves. Fool! We don’t employ plonkers- we’ll only give sound and approved information – at the end of the day, home and business security is above anything else! Fact.
