Is the Latin word for “discomfort” along the back of the leg” Sciatica is referred pain often caused by trapping the sciatic nerve in the base of the back. The sciatic nerve travels from the lower back down through the buttocks and along the rear of each leg. Sciatica is discomfort along this nerve and is a relatively normal type of back pain and is usually started by pressure on the sciatic nerve because of a herniated or bulging disc. The discomfort from sciatica can vary from rare and irritating to extreme and crippling.
Normally, it effects only one side, the pain moving through the buttock and along the leg and is often linked with a nagging pain on one side of the buttocks, pain in the leg and/or buttock that may become more painful when seated. Other sensations are a burning or tingling along the leg, weakness, numbness or difficulty moving the leg or foot or a shooting pain that makes it hard to stand up.
Though sciatica can be very painful and uncomfortable, it is rare that permanent nerve damage (tissue damage) results. Most pain is because of swelling and will reduce within a span of time. Nerve pain is caused by a combination of pressure and swelling on the nerve base, and treatment is centred on allieviating both of these issues. Back pain is extremelly uncomfortable and this amazing technique helps relieve the pain and get people back to their normal existence.
